What was once storage room inside a Cleveland mosque is now the home a free medical clinic.

Over the past month, the Cleveland Ibn Sina Clinic has welcomed about 40 patients inside the new clinic at the Islamic Center of Cleveland on W. 130th St. in Parma.

“Every and any community that starts to involve in an initiative which is based upon a selfless giving, it empowers the community,” said Dr. Mansoor Ahmed with the clinic.

The free clinic offers primary care and mental health services to anyone — regardless of their background. It also includes sub-specialties to offer help with sleep disorders, asthma and diabetes.

“Physicians are available,” said Ahmed. “They’re high in demand and volunteering their time, free of cost. I think it will go a long way to helping our community.

More than two dozen physicians have signed on to donate their time on the weekends.
