CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – The Boston Celtics face the Cavaliers Tuesday night in Cleveland, but star point guard Kyrie Irving will not be taking the court at the Q against his former team.

The Celtics say Irving will be sitting for “load management.”

Tuesday’s matchup will be the fourth game between the Celtics and Cavaliers in the 2018-19 season. Irving played only one of those games. He scored 29 points in Boston’s 128-95 win at home on Nov. 30, 2018.

The 27-year-old played his first six seasons in Cleveland. He helped lead the team to three NBA Finals appearances and one NBA championship in 2016.
