President Obama paid tribute today to civil rights pioneers who fought for passage of the Voting Rights Act and urged all Americans to honor their legacy by making sure to vote.
On the 45th anniversary of the landmark law, Obama issued a statement honoring “those who marched bravely … who shed their blood and gave their lives in the pursuit of freedom for every American.”
