CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – A pathetic parent is headed to prison.

Luatrice Williams was sentenced to 12-months behind bars.

This, after Williams took her 5-year-old son to a friend’s Westside home the night of May 19th. Those present went to the store while Williams left her son alone at the house to watch cartoons while she went to another store. The 31-year-old was gone 45 minutes to an hour.

When she returned, she discovered that her son was gone. The little boy was found walking in the neighborhood of West 98th Street and Macon at approximately 8PM by a citizen. Williams gave police different stories about what happen.

Luatrice pled for mercy, her sister plead for treatment. She’ll get both, a year in jail with intensive treatment and parenting classes and Judge Calabreze had a few choice words for Williams.

“Your lack of judgement was pretty extreme. You know anything could have happened to your son that day.”

Williams has a previous conviction for child endangering in 2006.

The little boy is being cared for by his aunt.
