NY Bound JFK Plane From SF Grounded For Hi-Jacking Threat

A New York-bound American Airlines jet was grounded on the runway in San Francisco Thursday after officials received a phoned-in threat of a hijacking.
American Airlines Flight 24 was just about to take off at about 3:30 p.m. when officials radioed the pilot to divert the plane to a remote area of San Francisco International Airport.
The Boeing 767-300 was to be evacuated and passengers are expected to be hauled back to the terminal for rescreening, said an American Airlines spokesman.
The plane, carrying 163 passengers and 11 crew members, was scheduled to fly to Kennedy Airport.
