CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 37-year-old mother of three faces a total of 12 counts of felonious assault, child endangering, aggravated menacing and domestic violence.

Talthina Jackson is accused of beating her 14- and 15-year-old sons and forcing the younger boy to lick up cat urine, eat cat food and eat his own feces.

Her 8-month-old daughter was present during some of the abuse, prosecutor’s spokesman Ryan Miday said.

According to prosecutors, Jackson, of Crennell Avenue, found her 15-year-old son using the computer in her bedroom Aug. 14. She thought he was stealing from her.

She hit him with her keys, bit him, choked him, hit him in the face with aerosol cans and hit his head with an iron.

With blood running down his head, he ran to a neighbor’s house. Police were called. The boy received six stitches.

“This child also has multiple scars over his body from being beat with a pole,” Miday said.

Since January, her 14-year-old endured repeated abuse, prosecutors say.

He was locked in his room for long periods of time and had to urinate out of the bedroom window one day and defecate in his closet another day. When she smelled the feces, she made him eat it and gave him a plastic bag to vomit in.

Another time, she thought he had urinated on plastic she had put on the floor to paint the walls. She made him lick it up. It was cat urine, Miday said.

Another day, she forced him to finish the cat’s uneaten canned food. The boy vomited in the bowl and she made him eat that as well.

Jackson is free on a $35,000 bond and due back in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Tuesday. The case was assigned to Judge Nancy McDonnell.
