Over the last week, the Cleveland and Toledo Offices of the FBI, its local and state law enforcement partners, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concluded Operation Cross Country V, our part of the national enforcement action that is part of the Innocence Lost National Initiative.

On the national level, this operation included enforcement actions in 40 cities around the country and led to the recovery of 69 children who were being victimized through prostitution. Additionally nationwide, 99 pimps were arrested along with 600 plus adults arrested for prostitution activities.

In the Cleveland area, 36 adult prostitutes were identified or arrested; 44 johns were arrested resulting in the seizure of 32 autos, 2 guns, and $6,000 in cash; and two pimps were arrested. The Cleveland operation included the following law enforcement agencies:

Cleveland Division of Police, Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department, Middleburgh Heights Police Department, Ohio Adult Parole, CMHA Police Department, Lakewood Police Department, and the Cleveland Office of the FBI.

In the Toledo area, 32 adult prostitutes were identified or arrested; 5 johns were arrested; 6 pimps were arrested; and 2 female child victims, age 12 and 14 were recovered.

The Toledo Operation was conducted by the following law enforcement agencies: Toledo Police Department, Lima Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Ohio BCI&I, Findlay Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Toledo Office of the FBI
