CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – A 9-year old could face some serious charges after prosecutors say he stabbed his teacher.

According to our sources the child used not one, but two classroom items when he went after his teacher.

The incident happened Thursday at Westbridge School when things got out of control during a positive education program on campus.

“I seen a police car in the yard then I pulled over for another one coming down the street and he stopped at the school,” Jim Wittenberg.

According to a juvenile prosecutor the student was calmed down after first going after his teacher with a pair of scissors. Then he used a pen to stab the teacher nine times!

A PEP spokesman had this to say:

“In rare instances when a child attempts to do harm to himself or others, PEP’s highly-trained staff members follow PEP’s clearly defined protocols to assure the safety of each child and staff member. The safety and well-being of our children and staff members is always our highest priority. ”

Malaina Johnson, another pep student, says violent outbursts aren’t uncommon.

“There was this kid in our school who tried to attack our teacher because he missed his bus,” Malaina Johnson.

But she is grateful for the help she gets managing her severe emotional problems.

“They’re helping me a lot in teaching me how to overcome my anger.”
