CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – Despite getting the opening kick off the Browns were losing 43 seconds into the game. On their second play a Colt McCoy pass was deflected and intercepted. On the next play Ben Roethlisberger threw a 56 yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace. The Steelers never looked back, blowing out Cleveland 41-9.
McCoy was sacked four times and threw three interceptions. Roethlisberger tossed two scores on the day and watched his running back Rashard Mendenhall also score twice.
After scoring on all five possessions in the first half Pittsburgh clinched the second seed in the AFC as the Browns finished the season 5-11 for the second straight year.
Eric Mangini has a Monday morning meeting with Mike Holmgren in which he’s expected to learn his fate.
