Over the weekend a 12-year-old boy and two 13-year-old boys were charged with misdemeanor criminal damaging for spray painting swastikas on garages and mailboxes.

“I saw a Nazi swastika and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I was just shocked,” said West Chester resident Rhonda Broda.

Broda woke up on Saturday morning to a swastika and a heart spray painted on her garage door. But she’s not the only victim in her neighborhood. Several other homes were hit, along the home of Chuck Allison.

“They had painted a swastika on our garage door. In addition to that they poured chocolate sauce on the door and on the front of my wife’s vehicle,” said Allison.  “We’ve lived here 12 years and have never had anything happen like this so we were startled none the less.

So who’s responsible for these disturbing images?

West Chester Police said three boys, ages 12 and 13, drew the symbols as a prank. Police said the boys claimed the marks weren’t intended to be hateful and they drew the images because they were bored.

“Toilet papering is a prank but to actually spray paint someone’s home is over the line,” said Allison.
