An investigation is underway after Garfield Heights police shot and killed a man Friday night.
It happened around 8:15 PM in the Marathon Gas Station on Broadway and McCracken.
Cops were called to the gas station for a man that was acting strangely. Witnesses say he was opening and drinking beer, among other things.
When police arrived, they say the man, reportedly in his 50’s, had a pole down the back of his pants, a billy club and a knife on him.
They told him to drop his weapons and he did but when cops went to take him into custody police say he lunged for his weapons again and that’s when he was shot by both officers on the scene.
