CLEVELAND – The 5-year-old boy who was pulled from a Cleveland house fire earlier this week has died from his injuries, according to a spokeswoman at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Logan Watson was trapped by the flames at the top of the stairs in his side home on W. 41st Street. Firefighters pulled him from the home and rushed him to the hospital, but firefighters at the scene called his injuries “unsurvivable.”

Watson’s father made it out of the house with his 4-year-old son, but then realized that Logan was not with them. The father then tried to go back into the house, but the smoke and flames were too intense, Assistant Fire Chief David McNeilly said.

A couple lived in the home with their three children, and the mom and the oldest child were out of the house at the time of the fire.

Fire officials have not named a cause of the fire, department spokesman Larry Gray said.
