Competing factions, bounty hunters and Libyan commandos are struggling in their hunt to find deposed Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi.

Without help from NATO, those involved in the hunt have thus far had to rely on human intelligence. Conflicting reports of Gaddafi’s whereabout have surfaced, but none have been confirmed.

The manhunt for Gaddafi is an important priority both for the rebels and for many Libyan civilians who say they will not feel truly safe until the former dictator is captured or killed.
