A Cuyahoga County elections worker, who made headlines when he allegedly tried to bite off the nose of a voter on election day, was arraigned on assault charges Saturday morning.

The worker, 53-year-old James Norman Williams, says he is “not guilty,” but the victim is now considering a lawsuit.

Williams, of Cleveland, is accused of head butting and then biting the nose of 49-year-old Greg Flanagan.

Flanagan is a voter who tried to intervene in an argument between Williams and a female campaign worker over the placement of a political sign outside a polling place at an Old Brooklyn church on Tuesday.

“When I see a woman four-foot tall, and a six-foot guy, face-to-face with her, I’m going to step in any time, and if that happens tonight, I would do the same thing,” Flanagan told Fox 8 News. “When there’s a little woman involved, you know that’s someone’s mom, sister, daughter.”
