Police are investigating after two women were attacked on Copley Road in Akron. Both attacked as they left businesses on Copley Road and both escaped the two men who were trying to hurt them.
The first happened around 8PM Friday night in the 1300 block of Copley Road. A woman was attacked by two men with a gun, forced into her car and driven to a desolate area off Schumacher where they tried to sexually assault her. The victim managed to get away and run to a nearby bar for help.
The second attacked happened the very next day, around 8PM Saturday in the 1400 block of Copley Road. The 33-year-old victim tells police she had been at a business and as she was walking to her car in the parking lot, she was confronted by two men with guns. She was forced into her car and driven to Schumacher and Bonneville, where they tried to sexually assault her.
Cecelia Jones knows she’s lucky to be alive. “I tried to hop into the car and shut the door but he opened the door, put the gun in my face and was trying to make me get in the passenger’s side. He said if you don’t get over here you’re going to die,” recalled Jones.
She was able to escape and ran to a bar for help. Her car and purse were taken and found Saturday near Frederick Boulevard and Good Park Boulevard.
