It looks like the end of the road for Donovan McNabb as a Minnesota Viking.
The AP is reporting that the team has waived the veteran NFL quarterback giving him the opportunity to sign with another team for the stretch run.
A knowledgeable source spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced the decision. The Vikings declined immediate comment.
McNabb, 13 year veteran, was in the locker room when it was open to reporters Thursday, but he wasn’t on the field an hour later when practice began. Christian Ponder was promoted to replace McNabb as the starter after relieving him in the fourth quarter at Chicago on Oct. 16.
Even though McNabb only threw two interceptions in the six games he played in, he struggled to get the offense running.
