Katherine Jackson didn’t realize that her “short vacation” had turned into a missing persons fiasco until a broken television at the Arizona resort where she was staying began broadcasting a report that she was nowhere to be found.

The 82-year-old Jackson family matriarch successfully regained guardianship of her grandchildren Prince, Paris and Blanket after filing court documents on Thursday, where she revealed that none of her companions, including family members, had informed her that her grandchildren were desperately trying to reach her.

In the legal papers, Jackson claims her cell phone was taken from her, the telephone in her room didn’t work and her iPad was confiscated when she asked if she could use it to Skype her grandkids.

She only discovered what was going on back at her Calabasas home when she awoke one morning to the sound of a broken television.

In the documents she wrote, “While there was no picture, I heard a broadcast that stated I was missing.”

Her nephew Trent reportedly filed the complaint with Los Angeles police on July 21 as Katherine’s teenage daughter Paris began tweeting her concerns about the wellbeing and whereabouts of her grandmother, demanding her return.

Upon learning of the drama, Katherine returned to the home she shares with her grandchildren – and today she was named the children’s co-guardian after she was temporarily stripped of the title during the family drama last week. She will now share responsibility with her grandson T.J.

As part of Thursday’s hearing, an order banning Paris, Prince and Blanket from travelling out of state was removed, allowing the kids to join family members at an upcoming celebration for their late father in Gary, Indiana.
