BEREA, Ohio – It’s official. Browns head coach Pat Shurmur named first-round draft pick Brandon Weeden the starting quarterback on Monday.

During a news conference, Shurmur said that Weeden will be the one to lead the Browns and there’s no looking back.

Weeden was the No. 22 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. While he may be a rookie, the 28-year-old is a former minor league baseball player.

The second-year coach told the quarterbacks Monday morning about his decision. The battle for the back-up QB spot is between Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace.
