CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
The transformation of the East Bank of the Flats is now underway.
The $500M Phase One of the project is not far from completion.
The 23-story office tower and the Aloft Cleveland downtown Hotel are on schedule. This is the anchor project of Phase One of the Flats East Bank redevelopment project. Phase One also includes commitments from five restaurants and a boardwalk along the river.
February 1 is the target occupancy date for the office tower. The hotel should be ready by mid-March.
New roads will be put in all around the complex. The brickwork on the front of the hotel is already taking shape.
“In front of the hotel, you’ve got four restaurants,” said Scott Orr of Gilbane Construction. “They’re designing step terraces and outdoor eating areas which will be very nice for the public to come down to.”
Ken Stewarts and Lago, both with highly successful local restaurants, will be two of the four restaurants in the hotel. They’ll have ground floor locations.
Financing is being put in place for Phase Two of the Flats project that will include a 140 unit residential complex right on the river.
