CLEVELAND – Another restaurant has signed on to be a part of The Flats East Bank redevelopment.
Willeyville, named for Cleveland’s first major, John Willey, will be located on Front and West 10th Streets, and owned by local chef Christopher DiLisi.
“Once we learned this (Flats East Bank) was a possibility for us, we jumped on it,” said DiLisi, in a news release on Tuesday. “When people think of Cleveland- they think of the Flats. I love this city, and I want to be a part of the project that brings the Flats back.”
DiLisi is the former executive chef at Baricelli Inn in Cleveland’s Little Italy. The menu will focus on fresh and homemade ingredients, with DiLisi making everything from scratch. Willeyville will also serve up a large wine and crash beer selection.
The 3,000-square-foot space will seat 100 diners with indoor and outdoor tables.
The Flats East Bank will be home to several other restaurants, including Toby Keith’s I love This Bar and Grill, Ken Stewart’s, Lago, Flip Side and Dos Tequilas, as well as a 23-story office building and Aloft Hotel.
The project, complete with a 1,200 foot riverfront boardwalk, is on track to be finished in the spring of 2013.
