CLEVELAND – Two northeast Ohio cities — Akron and Cleveland — make Forbes.com’s “dirtiest cities” list.

According to the publication, Akron came in 15th dirtiest out of 20 and Cleveland took the 19th spot.

The study was based on factors like water quality, air quality and toxic releases.

Akron’s ranking is thanks to its coal plants and Cleveland because of its metal plants.

Fresno, Calif. was named the dirtiest city by Forbes. Bakersfield, Calif. and Philadelphia, Pa. round out the top three most unclean cities.
