SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – A new modern-style quick service Italian restaurant primary based in the Columbus area opened its first northeast Ohio location Friday.

Piada Italian Street Food opened at 10:45 a.m. and offered free food to the first 200 customers. The restaurant is located in Cedar Center North in South Euclid (13947 Cedar Rd.).

The restaurant is similar in its setup to Chipotle, in that customers pick different parts of their meal from a cafeteria-style line.

“We feel that despite their hectic lifestyles, our guests shouldn’t have to sacrifice freshness, quality and ambiance for speed or value,” said Chris Doody, co-founder of the Bravo and Brio restaurant chains, in a news release.

Diners can choose from one of three main options:

– The Piada: thin crust dough that’s baked on a stone grill and then rolled

– Chopped salad

– Pasta bowl

According to Piada, the average bill is less than $9.

Piada in South Euclid will be open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Orders may be placed online here: http://www.mypiada.com

The company’s website said another location in North Canton on Belden Village Street is “coming soon.” The restaurant has six locations in the Columbus area and one in Dayton.
