CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

After some 34 years of being maintained by The Ohio Department Of Natural Resources, Cleveland Lakefront State Park is changing hands.

With a stroke of a pen Cleveland Metroparks will now take care of Lakefront State Park and the public can expect a higher level of programming to the parks along the shore of Lake Erie.

Some folks say that while a higher level of programming sounds nice they want to feel safe while at the park.

While it doesn’t appear the park will get a makeover it is due for a good cleaning, including keeping grill sites and beaches as clean as possible.  The restrooms are also in need of overhauling.

Cleveland Lakefront State Park is made up of six smaller parks with Edgewater on the west and Euclid Beach nearing the east.
