Former talk show host Oprah Winfrey has made a huge donation, $12 million, to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
In honor of the gift, the museum’s theater will be named after her.
“I am so proud of African American History and its contributions to our nation as a whole,” Winfrey told CNN.
Winfrey also donated a million dollars to the same museum in 2007.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture is relatively new. It was established by an act of Congress in 2003.
