The NFL is setting new rules for fans attending games.

Fans are already accustomed to pat downs, bag checks and passing through metal detectors.

But starting this season, fans will not be allowed to carry large bags into team stadiums.

Only clear plastic or vinyl bags less than about a square-foot in size will be permitted.

Some notable items are now prohibited, including seat cushions, coolers, fanny packs, camera bags and large purses.

Small clutch purses will be allowed but only if they’re put inside one of the clear bag options.

The new rules take effect starting with preseason games this summer.

And don’t worry, everything needed for tailgate parties are still permitted — in stadium parking lots.
