NewsChannel5 investigators also reached out to Jimmy Haslam. Pilot Flying J spokesman Tom Ingram sent us this statement:

“We are staying in close contact with the NFL during the investigation. We expect no change in Mr. Haslam’s relationship with the NFL and/or his ownership of the Browns. Any other statement is unfounded media guessing.”

Pilot Flying J is being investigated by the FBI for allegedly cheating trucking companies out of discounts and rebates.

Five employees have pleaded guilty to charges related to the rebate scandal. There have been more than one dozen lawsuits filed against Pilot Flying J by trucking companies who say they were cheated out of money.
