*First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama and her daughters, Malia and Sasha, attended Saturday night’s (August 24) performance of “The Trip to Bountiful.”
They slipped into their seats just as the first act was starting but received a huge ovation from the audience when they took their seats for the second act, according to Cheryl Duncan, Senior PR Consultant at the Terrie Williams Agency.
The First Lady and daughters came backstage after the show and graciously met every single crew and cast member, chatting for several minutes with everyone, including Cuba Gooding Jr., Vanessa Williams and Cicely Tyson.
The first lady was in town to promote her “Let’s Move” campaign during Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the U.S. Open.
