The Cleveland Browns have traded running back Trent Richardson for the Indianapolis Colts first-round 2014 NFL Draft pick, the team announced on Wednesday.

Richardson was Cleveland’s first-round pick and the third overall in the 2012 draft. This comes just after head coach Rob Chudzinski named third-string quarterback Brian Hoyer as the starter for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

“The question was whether or not he fit the offense and it really has nothing to do with Trent from that standpoint,” Chudzinski said. “The opportunity as an organization was there for us to have a chance to get better ultimately. It felt like it was the right decision.”
