On Friday, September 20, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts shed tears of joy during a very special celebration party.Calling it her birthday, the entire staff marked the noteworthy milestone of the one-year anniversary of her successful bone marrow transplant.
“Unlike my first first birthday — which of course I don’t remember — this time around I know I will never forget all the people who have reached out to me over the past year,” said Roberts in a personal blog.
Her much-documented, harrowing battle with a rare blood disorder called MDS brought great challenges, pain and intense health struggles for the award-winning Christian media personality. Through it all, she credits the prayers, love and support of her family, friends and millions of fans for her turnaround.
