Tracy Kragh is one of more than a million Ohio residents whose food stamp benefits will be cut this Friday.  But  Kragh says he’s already just getting by.

“I’m eating some pot pies, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, stuff like that,” he said.

By most accounts, it may get a lot worse.

“Friday’s going to be a dismal day for a lot of people,” said Anne Goodman, president and CEO of the Cleveland Foodbank.

Friday’s cuts will amount to about $10 per person, $50 a month for a family of five. What’s more, thousands of Ohio residents who are able bodied adults without children are about to lose their food stamps altogether for the next three years unless they have a job or are in job training.

“What we’re going to see are people that all of a sudden have nowhere to turn and a charitable hunger system that has no infrastructure to handle it,” Goodman said.
