An off-duty Cleveland fire lieutenant was shot Sunday night and has died at the MetroHealth Medical Center emergency room.

According to police, they were called to the 1800 block of Lampson Road at 8:30 p.m.

Police 45-year-old Fire Lieutenant, William Walker had parked in his driveway and upon walking to his house, was shot multiple times in the chest.

Walker was just promoted in August.

Police are continuing the investigation and haven’t released any information about the suspect.
