The City of Cleveland will soon be getting ready to roll out the presidential red carpet once again.

President Barack Obama will be in town Thursday, visiting one of the most successful steel manufacturing plants in the country.

Air Force One is expected to touch down in Cleveland during the afternoon, and then the president is set to visit ArcelorMittal just off I-77. He will meet with more than 500 workers, guests, and leaders at the plant, and then address the nation about the economy.

“It means a lot. It means there’s a belief; there’s a confidence in ArcelorMittal Cleveland, where about 1,850 working here and it really sends a good message to them and the community about what’s going on down here,” said Eric Haugue, General Manager for ArcelorMittal.

In October, ArcelorMittal celebrated 100 years of steel-making in Cleveland. In keeping up with the momentum of success, the company is emerging as a global center of excellence for the production of advanced high-strength steels, which are critical to future automotive fuel efficiency.

The company’s general manager said it’s very rewarding to host President Obama at a site which symbolizes the strength of American manufacturing.
