CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
A Cleveland mother avoided jail after she crashed her car while driving her three kids – ages 12, 9, and 2 – and pregnant niece while drunk.
Ericka Davis was sentenced to two years probation and treatment for the drunk driving accident that happened in April on I-90 westbound.
Davis was drunk when she drove onto the Lorain Avenue exit ramp at a high rate of speed and struck the concrete retaining wall. The vehicle flipped onto its roof and slid to a stop.
Prosecutors asked for a long prison term citing the danger to her children aged 2, 9,12, and a pregnant 16 year old niece. Her attorney said she’s in treatment and would do well in probation and she feels she’s been punished enough.
