CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
The footprint of University Hospitals just got a bit bigger. Government regulators gave approval for UH to take over Parma Community General Hospital and EMH Healthcare in Elyria. Starting January 1, 2014, the hospitals will become UH Parma and UH Elyria.
We contacted UH and requested an interview to talk about the future of both hospitals but no one is available until next week. They were however, able to answer some questions through email.
Namely, employment numbers. We asked if there are any plans to expand or reduce the workforce. Their answer, “No plans at this time…”
The next question: Will patients see any changes? Answer; “UH will work closely with the existing medical staffs to determine what new programs would benefit their communities. There will be a focus on wellness and prevention.”
