The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland announced Tuesday that it will be closing its Hough Avenue location and relocating all services to its Superior Avenue location.

“By making these changes, The Salvation Army will realign its resources to areas of greater need,” said Major Lurlene Johnson, divisional secretary of The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland, in a statement. “We are not leaving our clients or communities un-served or underserved.”

The organization said the transition will occur over the next two months.

“I think it’s a sad situation,” said Brian Kavinsky, who is moving into the Hough Avenue neighborhood.

Kavinsky said he was looking forward to seeing what The Salvation Army has to offer.
