CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
19 Action News Reporter Ed Gallek has learned, Cleveland City Officials have hired an outside law firm to defend itself in a lawsuit over a 2012 police chase and shooting.
Officers fired 137 shots and killed two people, and a federal wrongful death lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the families.
This means one law firm will be defending the city and the officers involved in the chase and shooting even though the city has already punished dozens of officers involved.
The city has hired Stephen Funk of Roetzel and Andress.
