Cleveland-in-DC

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and a team of business and civic leaders had one hour to make the case for Cleveland to host the 2016 Republican convention.

Jackson said it was mission accomplished.

The team did its best to persuade the convention site committee that Cleveland has the funding, facilities, hotel rooms and transportation and is a delegate-friendly city to make for a great convention.

The delegation included: Positively Cleveland’s David Gilbert; Sherwin Williams CEO and Greater Cleveland Partnership Chairman Chris Connor; the Downtown Cleveland Alliance’s Joe Marinucci; RTA’s Joe Calabrese; Republican Party of Cuyahoga County Chairman Rob Frost; and Cleveland Cavaliers/Quicken Loans President Len Komoroski.
