AKRON, OH (WOIO) –

Some University of Akron fraternity brothers appeared in court Friday accused in a case of severe hazing.

23-year-old Steven Pitts, 21-year-old Rinaldo Darius Allen, Jr., 22-year-old Jlani Pryce, 24-year-old Chuancey St. Clair Gilliam, 22-year-old Traevon Leak and 23-year-old Clive Ennin are charged with assault and hazing.

The men are active Alpha Phi Alphas enrolled at UofA.

Allegedly, five Spring pledges were paddled over the course of three weeks in January.
