The Cavaliers aren’t officially shutting Kyrie Irving down for the rest of the season, but they’re not ruling it out, either. Monday’s MRI confirmed a strained tendon in his left bicep, suffered early in Sunday night’s loss to the Clippers in Los Angeles.
The injury occurred in the first quarter when he got tangled up with Blake Griffin.
The Cavaliers will shut Irving down for two weeks, then re-evaluate.
Irving has a reputation for being injury prone, but had only missed three games this season, due to a knee injury. He played through a broken nose. He may not be able to play through the biceps injury.
