Dawn Neely-Randall has been a teacher for 24 years, and she is fed up with all the testing of students in Ohio. She wrote an editorial for the Washington Post on how much public school students are tested in Ohio.

Randall is a fifth-grade English language arts teacher and feels like too much of her time is devoted to testing and testing preparation.

“It is not developmentally appropriate to have young children taking two-and-a-half hour tests,” says Randall.

She has started a petition to encourage officials to develop what she calls “sane” testing. She is meeting with local legislators and has received support from her school district and many teachers.
