LORAIN, Ohio – It didn’t take firefighters in Lorain long to figure out what caused a house fire that left a family of eight out of a home. And who was to blame.

They didn’t have to look far because the person that started it told his mom.

It was the mother’s 5-year-old son. Asst. Chief Dennis Livchak said the child told his mother he started the fire when he was playing around with a lighter.

The family made it out and no one was hurt.
