Cleveland police officers and SWAT members are on the scene of a standoff in the city’s Tremont neighborhood.

It started just before one Monday morning in a home along Starkweather Avenue.

Cleveland dispatchers tell NewsChannel5 it appears that only one man is in the home, but he’s believed to be armed.

A person claiming to be a roommate of the man said the incident started when the man punched the roommates dog in the eye and pulled a knife on the roommate.

The dog has a swollen eye but otherwise appears to be ok.
