CLEVELAND – The winter cold may have continued in March but Northeast Ohio gamblers found something to do inside as revenue figures released for the month show all three of the region’s gambling destinations were up from February.

The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland posted an adjusted gross revenue figure of $21.2 million, its biggest monthly take since March of last year when the casino brought in $24.4 million.

While the 2014 total is down 13.2 percent from last year, it is up $3.7 million or 21.3 percent from February.

The slots number reflective of the increased competition from the video lottery terminals (VLTs) now offered by the Horseshoe Cleveland’s sister property ThistleDown Racino in North Randall and the Hard Rock Rocksino at Northfield Park, both of which posted strong numbers in March.

The Hard Rock Rocksino came in with revenue of $15.8 million after all bets were paid, up 20.3 percent from February. It was Hard Rock’s strongest month since opening in December.

ThistleDown’s VLT revenue was $10.6 million, up 5.7 percent from February.
