The damage is not as huge as the one that hit Target stores and its customers and a good number of stores were not affected. Still, if you have shopped at Michaels, double check your data and account.
(CNN) – The crafts retail chain Michaels knows more about the hack into its systems following a three-month investigation.
The company reported the security breach lasted eight months and affected about 3 million customers. The exact dates of the breach were May 8, 2013, to Jan. 27 – affecting seven percent of transactions in that time.
Some credit and debit card numbers were compromised, but Michaels stated there was nothing to indicate names of PIN numbers had been stolen.
