CLEVELAND – The 2016 Donate Life Transplant Games will be held in Cleveland, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission announced Tuesday, April 29.

The biennial event will feature about 20 events in downtown venues and area universities and is expected to bring 9,000 visitors and $5 to $10 million to Cleveland in Summer of 2016.

The sporting event is for organ recipients and living donors. The games include competitions like a 5K run, basketball, bowling, cycling, tennis, swimming and more.

“We have more than 3,000 participants, we expected over 9,000 visitors to come to Cleveland,” said David Gilbert with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.
