Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams knows better. Once a devoted Christian Evangelist, spreading the gospel, she allowed her larger-than-life media persona to overshadow her faith roots. Now, it’s all coming back to bite her.
Popular website TMZ—the same site that brought down Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his racist rant—is outing the “Flatline” singer who has gone from preaching against gays and lesbians (rightly, may we add) to performing in gay clubs.
In mainstream society, such hypocrisy equals the unforgivable sin.
In our liberal American culture, articulating disapproval of same-sex relationships is tantamount to hate speech and bigotry. There really is no middle ground.While conservative Christians are known for vocalizing their stance against it, although liberals detest such a viewpoint, it is expected. In Williams’ case, since the larger public has been largely unaware of her former life and biblical ideology, seeing her express anything other than approval of the community she profits from, is shocking and detestable.
