The unrest in Nigeria is hitting too close to home for a priest in Shaker Heights.

The Rev. Damian Ezeani is using social media to keep in contact with family still living near the capital.

From his office at Our Lady of Peace, Ezeani uses Facebook to keep in contact with them.

“I’m deeply troubled,” he said. “I cry, ‘Enough blood has been shed, people are dying every day.’ “

Like the rest of Nigeria, Ezeani is concerned about the kidnapping of more than 200 girls and a video released by Boko Haram threatening to sell the girls on the open market.

“It could be my sister, it could be a niece, it could be anybody I love so much, so I can never stop agonizing day and night what they lost,” said Ezeani.

Even though there are already drones in the area and the U.S. has set up a joint intelligence team at the embassy in Nigeria, Ezeani would like to see Clevelanders take a stand.
