Justin Bieber is rallying behind a Maryland-based Christian rapper who hopes to inspire one million pledges for God on social media with his music video.
Brandon Burke, who seems to be one of Bieber’s spiritual mentors, recently released the video called “The Pledge” where he delivers a rapping sermon while Bieber talks about God’s forgiveness and grace toward the end of the video.
“God loved the world so much He gave up his own son, right? ” Bieber says in the clip. “Imagine someone killing your son, like a bunch of people killing your son. These are your people, right? It’s like, ‘how are you killing my son? That’s my son.’ It’s gonna be hard for you to forgive but God forgave everyone and they killed His son. That shows how much grace God has.”
According to Burke’s website, “The Pledge” is his first single released from his first album, titled Long Live the King. He raps about his allegiance to God, America’s foundation as a Christian nation, and being an ambassador for the Kingdom of God which he hopes will prompt viewers to start a movement through the #iPledge hashtag.
