Browns Helmet

Fourth-year wide receiver Greg Little has been released by the Cleveland Browns, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday morning.

Little’s release comes one day after the Browns agreed to terms with former Pro Bowl wide receiver Miles Austin and signed another experienced pass catcher in Earl Bennett.

In three years with the Browns, Little played in all 48 games and made 41 starts. During those games, he turned 155 receptions into 1,821 yards, averaged 11.7 yards per reception, and scored eight touchdowns. He also gained 30 yards on five rushing attempts.

“The young man’s talented,” Browns general manager Ray Farmer said of Little last weekend. “The question mark would then fall onto can he be consistent and do the things that he has physically demonstrated he can do at times? If he continues to do those things and add a level of consistency, the difference between being good and great is consistent.”
