KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – More executives at Pilot Flying J have left the company, according to a knowledgeable source close to Pilot.
The source on Tuesday confirmed that Ron Carter, Jon Sigurdson and Kevin Hanscomb were terminated Monday, while Karen Mann and Heather Jones were placed on administrative leave.
Pilot CEO Jimmy Haslam announced in an internal email on Monday that President Mark Hazelwood was no longer with Pilot. A source close to the company on Monday said Scott Wombold — formerly the vice president of national accounts — also is no longer with Pilot, as of Monday.
The Knoxville-based chain of truck stops is the subject of a federal criminal investigation into alleged diesel fuel rebate fraud. Ten former employees have already pleaded guilty in connection with the investigation, and have agreed to cooperate with the government.
